Broadway Bound! The NYC Winter Intensive is open to dancers 10 years to adult including dance teachers worldwide.

Broadway Bound! is more than just a holiday dance intensive. It is a dance experience of a lifetime that is not to be missed!

If something is currently hot in New York and on Broadway for aspiring dancers or those just looking to perfect the moves seen today on stage, the big screen, TV shows and in music videos, you will be sure to find it in Broadway Bound!

The 5th annual ‘Broadway Bound’ is more exciting than ever offering even more training, more networking and more fun during Christmas time, the most wonderful time of the year to be in New York City.

Dance Classes and Private Workshops

 
bullet All private workshops are customized to suit dancers styles/levels and needs and feature industry chat's and Q & A's, autograph signing sessions and photo taking opportunities
 
bullet Private group Master Classes with the industry’s hottest instructors TBA. In 2009, The Groovaloos, based in L.A. and who were crowned NBC's Superstars of Dance were the featured choreographers. Bradley "Shooz" Rapier led a Hip Hop workshop and Christina Benedetti, a House workshop. Other classes and choreographers have included Musical Theatre with Joshua Bergasse (West Side Story) and Hip Hop with So You Think You Can Dance judges Nu Stylz Cicely & Olisa (Missy Elliott) and Brice Vick (Ashanti).
 
bullet Take private classes with the world renowned Ailey faculty in Ballet, Theatre Dance, Horton (form of Modern) and West African. All classes have live musicians which makes the experience even more special. You may have seen Ailey dancers on Oprah and on So You Think You Can Dance.
 
bullet Work with the world famous Rockettes at the Rockette Experience. The Rockette Experience fuses jazz, some tap and their famous kick line. This all takes place at Radio City Music Hall. There is a mock audition, photo taking opportunities and a Q & A with a Rockette.
 
bullet Classes at two of N.Y’s top dance studios where you will select the styles, levels and choreographers of your choice. Take class from the best of the best along with other New York dancers

Steps is more than a dance school, it is an internationally recognized community of artists that is home to some of the finest and most passionate dance teachers in the world. It is a celebrated space set amid the Beaux Arts grandeur of Manhattan's Upper West Side, blending old-world ambience with modern facilities. The ten fully-mirrored, sprung-floored, climate-controlled studios are filled with natural light-and limitless inspiration.

In addition to the star choreographers, dancers and agents that Broadway Bound! dancers meet, past Be Discovered Trips dancers have also met Marques Houston, Mya and Carmit Bachar of the Pussy Cat Dolls.
 
bullet In addition to dance professionals, dancers also meet and work with vocal and performance coaches and other leading industry leaders
 
bullet Along with world class dance training, you will also train with top vocal and performance coach, Steven Cirillo who received his Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Currently in demand as a Broadway vocal coach, Mr. Cirillo's clients can be seen on Broadway in The Color Purple, Cry-Baby, Curtains, Grease, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Spamalot, South Pacific, Wicked, Xanadu, and Young Frankenstein in additional to many National Tours and regional productions. Focusing on the acting of audition material and choice of repertoire, many of his clients make their Broadway debut every year.

Auditions and Shows
 
bullet Broadway wouldn't be Broadway without shows! Broadway Bound includes 2 shows that are relative to our program as the dancers work with their choreographers and dancers.
 
bullet The show outings also include back stage tours and meet and greets with the casts, choreographers and performers. There will also be autograph signing sessions and photo taking opportunities.
 
bullet "The Christmas Spectacular" starring the world famous and largest precision dance troupe the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. This is a beautiful show with breath taking numbers, a live nativity scene and even Santa stops by. It is an ever more exciting show as the dancers work with The Rockettes and learn their choreography.
 
bullet Take the Stage Door Tour that takes you behind the scenes of Radio City Music Hall following The Rockette Experience.
 
bullet A 2nd Broadway show is a part of Broadway Bound. Annually, it is the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre at the New York City Center as the dancers also take private workshops with Ailey choreographers. In 2009, The Groovaloos were in NY from LA for their off Broadway debut, so the Ailey show was substituted with Groovaloo. The dancers worked with both Ailey and Groovaloos choreographers that year.

Mock Auditions with a top artistic director/choreographer to learn audition etiquette, how to pick up choreography quickly at dance auditions, work on controlling your nerves and improving your self-esteem and confidence to get you audition ready.


Sightseeing and Fun
 
bullet Travel to New York City, the dance capitol of the world from your hometown. You can come on your own as the program is chaperoned or you can join us with your family. Dancers under 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Your family may be able to join us on some outings. All workshops (except Rockette Experience), classes and other events are closed to spectators.
